Using Twitter Efficiently to Market Your Business

The most important element of Twittering for your business is to update with tweets regularly, the single most important aspect of maximizing your Twitter account for your business, but it can be a monumental task for small business owners. Most people setup their Twitter accounts and then just let them die on the vine. Whatever you do, don’t let this happen.
When utilized in the right way, Twitter is a remarkable opportunity for small business owners, offering one of the most uniquely effective ways to build your sphere of influence in your industry niche, to listen to what your customers and competitors are saying in real-time, and ultimately, providing you with an unfettered opportunity to grow your business in a whole new way.
Like so many small business owners, tweeting (as it’s called) on a daily basis might seem like a daunting task. Luckily, there are a few outstanding 3rd party Twitter applications that can help you manage, maintain and get the most out of your Twitter account without you having to watch your Twitter feed updates 24 hours a day.
I’m going to talk about two of my very favorite third party Twitter applications in this regard:

How to Maximize Twitter
So, how can you maximize your use of Twitter to benefit both yourself and your followers?
Here are three easy ways to empower your Twittering for networking, marketing and fun:
1. Utilize the “Track” feature
If you’ve set up Twitter to work on your phone or IM client, you can use this feature. Simply type “track” and then the word or phrase you’re interested in and you’ll receive any Tweet that mentions that word or phrase.
(For example, if you wanted to track Tweets that mention the Cleveland Indians, you'd type "track Cleveland Indians." If you want to stop tracking the term, type "untrack Cleveland Indians.")
This is a great way to meet people and connect with other professionals in your industry.
2. Add Value

Creating a Web Presence
with No Budget
for Beginners
The purpose of this article is to help someone with zero budget understand basically, how do I get SOMETHING going when I have no resources?
First think about the resources you DO have.
Sites like Office Live or Google sites will allow you to set up a basic bare bones website for free. It costs nothing.
Heck you can host your blog on blogger.com or wordpress.com - that's free too.
There are places like Morguefile.com where you can get high-quality royalty-free images to use as well.
There's no excuse to NOT have some kind of website.
What about an opt-in? Even office live now has a makeshift option to create a contact email management system. Not my favorite, but if you're totally broke, it's better than NO opt-in at all.
What about video? Windows moviemaker comes standard on most PC's now, and there are sites where you can create short videos for free. Just want to post informational videos? embed something from youtube.com
Seriously. You can create all of this from scratch for nothing. No hostng fees, nothing.
There's simply no excuse.
Now if you've got a budget (even a small one) there are other ideas - like |
